Founder/CEO: Toyo Yamane-Peluso
Toyo started her eclectic business life in 1984 in the cosmetics department at Robinsons May, while attending college in her home town of Santa Barbara, CA. There she was recruited by major cosmetics companies for her energy and successful performances in sales and business management. She then accepted a position as the Assistant Director for La Belle modeling agency where she coordinated contract negotiations. From there Toyo joined the airlines industry where she was trained as a grievance counselor with the IAM/AFLCIO for the LAX in-flight base. She was also the youngest Area Sales Manager and Regional Buyer of Cosmetics & Fragrances for Belks of FL. In 2001 Toyo founded Spirit Earth Organic Skincare after losing her Aunt to cancer and her friend’s ill-fated encounter with melanoma which then turned into breast cancer. It was then Toyo found her Mission of Love. She created a completely organic line of skincare and makeup that focuses on the solution to a much needed balance of organic purity and effectiveness in the beauty industry. She continues her education as well as an active role in educating others in herbal studies as a current member of the American Herbalists Guild. Currently she is working on an International Certification in Phytotherapy in the UK and continues her education as a student at Rutgers University for Environmental sustainability. Toyo has consulted for and helped businesses in and out of her field to embrace and develop ways for cost effective environmental sustainability and business development.
President/Director of Sales: Lisa Gunther
Lisa K. Gunther graduated from Wagner College with a degree in Fine Arts and Psychology in 1994. With a love for the theatrical, she found herself on the Broadway tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, staring Carl Anderson and Ted Neeley. Touring for the better part of a year, she experienced every state in the US and Canada. Feeling completely full filled with her experience, she was pulled to the west coast. It was there that Lisa fell in love with the art of healing. She graduated from California Healing Arts College and started her career in massage and body work. Redondo Beach Academy of Beauty was soon to follow and her passion for healing with touch continued to grow with skin care. In 2001 Lisa moved back to the east coast and opened Avatar Spa a beautiful Holistic day spa in Marlboro NJ. Because of Her amazing business success and unique gift for education and healing she was recruited by Spirit Earth to head the Sales and Training Department using the now world famous Avatar Spa as not only Spirit Earth’s Signature Spa for Organic Treatment Services but also as The Holistic Center for Organic Professional Education. Lisa’s mantra is to enrapture your soul in a beautiful journey of the heart. Her love of holistic healing grows every day along with the passion to give people the gift of organic health.
On Staff: Dr. Jessica Carter D.N.M.
Dr. Jessica Boyette-Carter received a bachelors of arts in psychology from the University of Louisiana. After college she became interested in natural and holistic remedies and pursued a Doctor of Natural Medicines from the Yamuni Institute of Healing Arts. She graduated with honors and is board certified in Clinical Bionutrition and is a member of the International College of Bionutrition. She completed the clinical internship program offered at the Jester Nutritional Consultants Clinic in Maurice, La. Doctors of Natural Medicine (DNM) teach individuals how to live healthy lifestyles and prevent the onset of diseases. DNM’s do not diagnose or treat illness. Natural Health programs may include herbalism, natural hygiene, naturopathy, nutrition and how these approaches may be used as complementary treatments to modern day medicine. Presently she resides in Salt Lake City, UT with her husband and children.

Dr. Barnett has a medical practice in Sarasota, FL where she is also the Director and Owner of the Mandala Med Spa.
She is a Double Board Certified Harvard/MIT Trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery, Past Surgical Section Chief at Bon Secours Venice Hospital and current Active Staff, Emergency Disaster Physician Coordinator for Red Cross and Sarasota County, Sarasota County Medical Society’s Immediate past President and current AMA Alternate Delegate, former Major USAR and three time board member of the Florida Medical Association. She is board-certified in general surgery and continues to maintain her certification in addition to having attained board certification in plastic surgery and having completed a hand surgery fellowship.
Striving always for excellence, she completed a four-year Liberal Arts degree in two years delaying entry into medical school for a year of postgraduate education. She turned down a spot at Harvard Medical School in order to enter the joint Harvard-MIT health sciences and technology program, an MD program limited to only 25 students per year in order to exploit the advantages of a top of the line medical education grounded in the world-premier basic sciences of MIT.
Dr. Barnett spent 11 years on active duty attaining the rank of Major before going into private practice in Florida. Her invaluable military training includes the world famous Brook Army Burn Center, John Hopkins Shock Trauma Unit and the St. Louis microvascular program. She was a trauma surgeon in the Army, heading a Terrorist Response team stationed in Germany in the mid 80’s and remains as a clinical instructor in surgery for the Uniformed Services School in Bethesda. She is currently on staff at Venice Regional Medical Center in addition to St. Andrews Surgery Center. She is active in local, state and national medical organizations including having been the former chief of surgical section, past president of Sarasota Country Medical Society and current delegate to the FMA and alternative delegate to the AMA.
